Explanation: Batch Production

Batch production is a manufacturing method in which several products are processed simultaneously in a batch before moving on to the next step in the production process.

In contrast to this approach, with "one piece flow" each workpiece or product is fed through the production process one after the other. Whilst the results of a one piece flow can be, for example, lower stock levels or shorter throughput times, batch production is more cost-efficient in certain circumstances.
