Looking Back on Our “Industrie 4.0 Konkret“ Workshop

Science Reality IoT instead of Science Fiction - Event in Munich

What are the crucial factors for a successful start to the IoT (Internet of Things)? What kind of innovative business models does Industry 4.0 give rise to – hence, which core technologies should companies be aware of?

These are only few out of numerous stimulating topics concerning the challenges and trends triggered by the IoT and I4.0, that led to inspiring discussions amongst the participants of our strategy and hands-on workshops “Industrie 4.0 Konkret” on 6th and 7th October 2015. Innovative concepts for corporate practice were developed through a thought-provoking exchange of ideas with prestigious experts from various industries and IT.

While partaking in a mixture of lectures and technology sessions in combination with a unique “company market place”, the workshop participants were able to gain deeper knowledge of the following aspects:

  • What are the current key approaches to the development of I4.0-Roadmaps and innovative business models
  • Significant learnings from present practical I4.0 implementations in industry
  • What essential I4.0 and IoT technologies are currently worth following up and how to use specific technologies such as Additive Manufacturing and robotics innovations effectively

Part of the prestigious guest lecturers were Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dirk Jakob, member of the University of Applied Sciences in Kempten, giving an insight into the operational criteria and scenarios of industry robotics in Industry 4.0, and Dr. René Brunner, acentrix GmbH, presenting the way from Big Data strategy to business and IT architecture.
