Explanation: Product Carbon Footprint (PCF)

The Product carbon footprint (PCF) refers to the greenhouse gas emissions generated throughout the life cycle of a product, from raw material extraction to production, transport, use, and disposal. The PCF is usually measured in CO₂ equivalents (CO₂e) and provides a key indicator for assessing the climate impact of individual products. Companies are increasingly using the PCF as a basis for decision-making in sustainable product design, supplier selection, and strategic environmental management.
