Explanation: CO2 tax

Also referred to as CO₂ price or CO₂ pricing and is set individually by states. In Germany, the CO₂ tax was introduced in 2021 with a price of 25 euros and has been gradually increased since then. By taxing CO₂ emissions, countries pursue the goal of making CO₂ emissions more expensive and thus reducing them.
