Explanation: Feedstock

In an industrial context, the term "feedstock" refers to raw materials or starting materials that companies use in product manufacturing. These materials can be of natural origin, such as agricultural products, crude oil, natural gas or ores. They can also consist of recycled materials or other products that have already been processed.

The term is often used in the (petro)chemical industry and other processing sectors. The choice and availability of feedstock can have a significant impact on production costs, product quality and environmental impact.
