Explanation: Make-to-Order (MTO)

Make-to-order (MTO) is a manufacturing concept according to which companies only manufacture their products after receiving an order. In contrast to "Make-to-Stock" (MTS), where products are manufactured in stock, MTO allows for customer-specific production and minimizes stock levels. MTO also enables companies to react more flexibly to customer requirements and increase their productivity with a more efficient use of resources.
