Explanation: Tool standards

Tool standards are standardized norms and guidelines. They serve to ensure interoperability, the smooth exchange of tools and components between different manufacturers and machines, and the fulfillment of related quality standards.

Tool standards usually include specifications, dimensions, tolerances and other technical details. They thus support product development and the smooth operation of machines. They contribute to a more efficient design of manufacturing processes. Common tool standards are DIN standards (German Industrial Standards), ISO standards (International Organization for Standardization), ANSI standards (American National Standards Institute) and JIS standards (Japan Industrial Standards).
