Explanation: Front End Loading (FEL)

The term front-end loading (FEL) refers to a central process in the course of investment projects. If carried out well, it can significantly increase the success of the project. An FEL consists of the phases "Identify and evaluate opportunities", "Develop project scope and conceptual planning" and Front-End Engineering Design (FEED), the execution planning. Another common term for this process is "Front-End Planning" (FEP). FEL is used in the processing industry, e.g. in the oil, gas, petrochemical, natural gas refining, metallurgy and waste management sectors.
